\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe fires at the sorting centres have attracted a great deal of attention in recent weeks, particularly that of a building, renovation and demolition (CRD) sorting centre in eastern Montreal, which has impacted the lives of the residents of the neighbourhood. Yet, a year ago, Ricova was already alerting municipalities and the government with its report Les piles au lithium dans le bac bleu, un m\u00e9lange incendiaire!<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>\r\n\r\nWhy are we talking so much about fires involving recyclable materials, waste materials or CRD materials, but nothing seems to be changing?\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn the case of fires in sorting centres, surrounding residents suffer from effects such as smoke, the presence of emergency vehicles of first responders in their neighbourhoods and the risks to their property. Even worse, these accidents put the health, safety and even the lives of workers at serious risk.\r\n\r\nIn almost all cases of fire, it is materials that should not have gone to the sorting centre that ignite the other materials.\r\n\r\nTen years ago, if you saw a fire in a sorting centre once or twice a year, the incidence of that fire went up to four times, four to eight times a year.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It doesn\u2019t go in the bin\u2026 where does it go?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
